Looking for advice, the next job on my list is to get the ac working, I know the condenser has a hole in it, top left when looking from the front, what is the probability of the evaporator being shot is failure common, if it is I might not bother as I'm not in the mood to tackle an evaporator change. It's a bit of an open ended question but any comments would be appreciated

I've just had my AC brought back to life. My condenser had the exact same problem & a common issue. All is well with mine after a new condenser & re-gas. Compressor was a little noisy at first but getting quieter.

Evaporator is usually OK. Normally it's just a change of condensor, VAC out & test then re-gas. Quik, easy and not expensive. Aircon is good for the electronics, keeps everything dry especially in winter.

condenser is a quick and easy job, only have to remove grill and slam panel, taking it easy only takes an hour.
