Seized solid actually. I think its damaged its clutch and there was a brief smell of refrigerant gas so I guess its dumped all of that too.

Would really appreciate any advice on what else I need to look at when replacing. I've been told there will now be particles of carbon or slag of some kind all through the system and that I must also change the receiver/dryer, expansion valve, and flush all the pipes etc. Sounds terrifying and at the same time if that's the case won't it also have gotten into the condensor and the evaporator?

Could really use your help guys, never had to work on airconditioning before!

Cheers
