I've replaced the accumulator and the ABS relay. My ABS pump only seems to come on intermittently ( I know it should come on intermittently...I mean sometimes it doesn't when it should.)
Any hints before I take the expensive plunge ?
Can the PCRV be a source of problems or should I be looking elsewhere ?

How do you mean it doesn't when it should? It should come on to pressurise system then go off. After a few brake applications it will come in again to pressure system. Stamping on brake uses more from accumilator than does gentle application. So it coming back on will vary. If brakes work and warning lights stay out it should be ok.

when up to pressure three applications of the brake pedal should make the pump switch on.
is the abs working ok? [no skidding with pulsating brake pedal]
when you changed your accumulator did you renew the brake fliud ? as the faulty one could have released nitrogen into the existing brake fluid and contaminated it:)
