The abs on the wife's dse is playing up, reversed of the drive this morning and the brake pedal went almost to the floor, I pumped the brake pedal a couple of times and drove forward a little the pedal then came back, but the abs light then stayed on till I got to about 25-30 mph then went out, Anyone got any ideas? is the abs system pressureised like on a few french cars? I was wondering if it would need gassing up?

Might be worth starting a new thread with brake modulator rebuild in the title. I hope this isn't your issue, but thought I would bring it to your attention just in case. As you can see, it's a pretty serious problem.

Hi, i have had the same problem as you, i replaced the complete acumalator/pump with a second hand one only for that to fail after two months, did you find any more out about rebiuld kits (availability i mean).
many thanks.

Steve.

Range Rover Air Suspension repair, advice and troubleshooting by Rover Renovations. these are the people who make the ABS modulator repair kit, however when I stripped mine down yesterday I found that all was ok, the washers were still intact, so I did another search on google and found that a common ABS fault is the ABS relay, this sticks on causing the abs pump to run continously eventualy burning the motor out on the ABS pump. So next thing was to test the ABS pump, it should run for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on, mine was'nt so I removed the pump and conected it to a battery charger (to rule out the relay), nothing! the motor was shot. I managed to source a second hand one for £100 and fitted it, I took longer to bleed the brakes than to change the pump! Job sorted now, I hope this will shed some light on other peoples ABS woes.:clap2::clap2::clap2:
