Hello all.
i have this problem on a 98 freelander 1.8 and its driving me nuts,
here is what i have checked.
1) the brake pedal switch.... its the old 2 wire on/off switch, working fine, brake lights on.
2) wheel sensors........... the front ones are corroded in and are not coming out unless i drill them out, on saying that they are working fine, each one tested at the plugs under the rear wheel arches and front inner wings, all reading the same 980 ohms and when the wheels were turned a steady fluctuation in ohms so the rotation is being picked up on all wheels, (at the bottom of all the hubs there is a small gap if you lift both front wheels you can spin them and can clean the ring with some emmery, then both rear wheels) ( only if they are rusty as i think they are coated to stop rust)
3) gear stick switch connector, when unpluged im getting the correct 12v, and while still unpluged the gear stick switch is switching on and off my cont beep on the meter, so all ok here,
4) all plugs and connectors are fine from the sensors, and going onto the abs block drivers side innerwing,
5) brake fluid is fine,
6) servo working ok
7) new front pads, ( and the abs was fine when fitted)
8) not checked rear shoes yet,
Now.......
i was told if one tyre is right down and other 3 high this will give a missmatch wheel reading as one is going faster than other 3, so to check this all wheels were lifted then only the engine ran them at the same speed, the 3 lights were still on,
now my mot is due so need to sort it quick.

Ideas anyone please ????????????

sorry this is in wrong thred... just deleat it
