Hi Guys, so I pick up my first ever Landrover Freelander 2007 2.2 TD4 SE on Friday, cant wait to take it offroad!! But a couple of things, its done 98,000 miles, 10 stamps, a few scratches and not much wear and tear tbh. In fact the engine bay has been jet washed and the suspension looks brand new!! a little rust under chassis but everything else is immaculate! Im just a bit weary about the engine bay being so clean and the suspension! The good thing about this sale is that it comes with 3 months RAC Warranty so im sure everything is squeaky clean, literally. Can anyone advise me on this, or other things to look out for? Thanks in advance. Jules

Just enjoy it, use the keys alternating on a regular basis, look out for water ingress through the high brake light, it tends to corrode the switch gear for opening the tailgate.

So I picked up my FR2 on Friday, couldn't be happier, however, there is a knocking noise when cold at low revs, (only just discovered this now) and there are exhaust/diesel fumes coming into the cabin! Any suggestions? Cabin filter maybe? Oh and when parked up, I keep finding a small puddle of fluid, looks like hydraulic. Ffs!! good job its under warranty..

Small puddle will be aircon condensation from the drain tube, fumes will be the battery cover not seated correctly, knocking need more info

Awesome! Thanks for that mate! Much appreciated! So the noise is noticeable when I set off first thing, i.e. when cold, it knocks until around 2000 rpm then all is fine, it does this in all lower gears until I guess when the engine gets warm. Ive read up on it and it sounds like the common Diesel Knocking which I wasn't aware of until now! Cheers
