Aaron Raptor is easy to use ! Make sure you get a good key not as fine paper as normal paint, you add the catalyst to the paint pot, shake for 2 min, screw to shulz gun and spray on. needs a warm place and if it gets wet >72 hrs it goes grey not black ( guess you can tell how I know that bit )
Gives a nice orange peel but tough finish.

Thanks for the info mate. Sounds simple enough.
Should probably leave it for a while is that is the case too, can't trust it not too rain for a day, never mind three.

Finished the other wing this morning.

You've gone to a lot of trouble and the wings look really good. Are you still thinking about using a roller to paint?

I have never seen a really good roller job and it might be worth getting the paint dome professionally, if your pockets allow o_O Keep up the good work. It's going to be well worth the effort!

Hardly any brush marks. Paint straight out the tin, no more thinners needed.

Brush on and then lay the paint off. Work a panel at a time. Don't load to much paint on the brush.

Biggest thing is paint on a cloudy day. Sunshine causes the paint to dry and skin to fast. If that happens then the paint drags and is awful.

Decent brush helps. I just used a couple of brushes from b and q but they were good enough. I am pretty pleased with it and it gets used as it should...

Would do it again.

Forgot to update last weekend, and what a nice one it was, sun was shining, not a cloud in the ski, it almost felt like summer o_O
Although Their wasn't a lot to show for a weekends work.
We all know panel prep takes sooo long  Lots of wet flatting, as well as heavy removal of that red shite' paint.

The inside of the tub was finished with 80g ready for raptor.

image.jpeg

The outside was finished and given a final wet flat.

image.jpeg

Onto the tailgate, the centre rib will be replaced, but other than that it isn't bad, other than the numerous extra holes that aren't needed

Front panel.

The horrible red paint is on that thick I couldn't even tell their was a sticker on here.
But removed it and shows it's original colour. Surprising really, their is red shite sprayed everywhere
Hmm, I do rather like the blue..

Vent flaps.

Did a few other bits, like gave the wings and bulkhead a final wet flat, windscreen hinges and found a windscreen frame out, but not a lot, time just seemed to disappear.

Little bit damp here at the mo, so hopefully it dries up a little and I'll go and do something.

Didn't do a lot on the project this weekend, had a little tinker on Saturday for a couple of hours but that's it.
Sunday I spent sorting the garden out ready for building a new shed.
Don't even know what I want yet, but if I don't just start nothing will ever happen and just keep overthinking it.
That meant moving one of the sheds out of the way and putting somewhere temporary until the new one is built.

Just sick to death of managing how I am, and things are only getting worse.
Metal shed has always annoyed me, but it does it's job to store things I guess.
Timber shed, well that was kind of my workshop sort of thing, but that is a crap wooden floor that is sat on the mud and runs out front to back about 5"
No wonder the doors don't shut properly.
And the existing garage roof is leaking like buggery.
Side door is falling to pieces, and the slab slops towards the back so when it rains everything ends up in a nice puddle.
Everything just seems to have gotten worse.
So I have had enough, even just a new shed on a nice flat base/floor would be nice.

So the entire contents where emptied and re-located.
Both sheds that is, as the timber one will be coming down too.
Lets just hope I don't need anything out of it  It is rather snug now
And a temporary fence put up.

Timber shed will be pulled down this week, (ripped the roof off this evening)
Tree needs to come down.
Path needs to come up.
And trying to sort some fencing stuff out for the weekend for along the back.
Also started a new job last week so time will probably become even more sparse, doesn't hep that it is in Halifax mind. Not used to that traveling business, been used to working within half an hour of my house for the last few years..

Looks like promising progress so far. Did you manage to move the green shed all in one piece?
I managed to shift this one the other day with a crowbar:

In a similar way, it's been moved onto my new concreted area so I can build a new one on the place where it used to be. I bet you'll have yours up faster than I do mine.

Eh up Aaron, reply to a bit of an old post here... You got quoted some ridiculous amount for axle casing to be blasted. I had 2 D2 casings done for 60 quid all in at a place in Horbury, they've always had good prices to be honest, got both HD bumpers, NAS hitch, rock sliders and steer protection bar done for 75 quid previously. Just another option, petrol/diesel to and from them probably not that bad for you either.

Yours will be a bigger, better shed than mine though :) I just need something to get me by for a couple of years, I am hoping to have something water tight for the end of summer.
Green shed yes, I just dragged it down the garden, it was flapping and bending a bit when lifting but I wasn't too fussed as it will be going to the tip once the new one it up.

Yep, it was ridiculous money Ben, and definitely why they didn't get done.
It's just difficult finding someone reasonably priced that doesn't take 3 months to do it.
And thanks for the info, it is certainly worth traveling 30 minutes for the saving.

Took the other shed down this evening and screwed a bit of temporary fence up (using the old shed)
Ordered some new fence stuff today, getting delivered tomorrow, so that will be this weekends job.

Not been on for a while, but have been a little busy, both work and home.
Not project related as such, but a little bit of movement on the shed front.

Tree cut down and removed, 200mm dig out, two 8yard skips, dug and barrowed by hand, it's times like these you start to question whether you should have started something like this on your own.
Or just rented a digger o_O

Shuttered, 8 ton of limestone back in, and wackered.

This weekend I decided to get it concreted.
And decided to mix it myself, it would have been nice to get ready mix, but getting enough people to help barrow it in is hard, and it's a good 60m walk, so not something I can do on my own, roughly 3.5m3 concrete, would have been nice with 3 people really.
So ordered 6t of ballast, but unfortunately I had a slight miss calculation and didn't have enough to finish it
Harder work and took longer this way, but at least I could take things at my own pace without fighting it going off.

That should be the hardest graft out of the way now, hopefully only upwards now :)
