Getting fed up now, lol!

I've had a vibration at 40mph plus ever since I had a new gearbox.

Last week I took it back, they swapped the new prop I supplied for the old one and the vibration went away. Then Friday I took it for a long motorway run around 250 miles and ever since the vibration is back worse than ever!

Any ideas? Seized UJ due to the long run?

It also feels more sluggish like something is binding, front brakes and bearings are all new.

It's a defender 110 and it has a new rear prop.

Also noticed the rear cross member is worse than I thought and ideally needs replacing, can anyone recommend someone in the Wilts/Bristol area who is good quality and reasonably priced to do it, had one ridiculous quote of £750 plus vat so far.

Take the offending prop off again and go for a drive see if the noise goes away. If not refit and take the other prop off and go for a drive.

Check UJ's while you have props off.

If non of the above then you need to start looking else where. Id start by taking the car back to the G/box supplier and asking him exactly what he did and to have a look as it didn't have a vibration before the g/box was replaced.

You could find that having a new g/box has caused another issue to be more dominant and show itself. Wheel bearings? radius/trailing arm bushes? the list is endless

Check the handbrake drum is fully released and not binding as that would of been removed to get the gearbox dropped out, could be causin a vibration. This may be way it is feeling sluggish

just somthing to check and cross of the list of possible things!
