A worrying new knocking

hi gents. hopefully someone can help. i've done a few searches and not come up with much. Today my 90 started knocking at low speed, when pulling away i get a hollow sounding knock, if i am crawling in either first or second i have the same thing. the same when reversing onto the drive and occasionally when breaking to a stop at low speed. At 50mph on the motorway all is well and it behaves normally. i had the rear prop off last week to do the diff seal and have checked all bolts and they are good, as a matter of courtesy i checked the front prop and there was play in the prop when before there was none. Does anyone have any thoughts? i am totally stumped!

check your UJ,S and a frame balljoint,and search for the answer for fooks sakes

take the front prop off stick it in diff lock go for a short drive see if the noise dissapears.
But i thought you would have experienced some vibration through the steering if you had a worn prop.
