Have discovered a strange wet patch on the carpet on the drivers footwell- I've thought of the usual pollen filter/aircon/heater o ringd etc but the strange thing is its only wet by the bit where the carpet goes under the plastic gripper thing at the sill. Its sopping wet for about two inches in the goes dry towards the tunnel. its also dry at the pedals. Have looked underneath and cant see any problems. Could it be running down from somewhere? Any thoughts would be appreciated. if the weather ever dries up where I live I will have the carpet out an look properly!
PS passenger side is lovely and dry!!

Thats a damn fine idea, theres a bit of a gap between the door frame at the front where it meets the bonnet/wing....How big a bit of stick then and where abouts to put it - bear in mind I am extremely stupid!

Will look and see- I think so though. Its just the bit by the 'carpet gripper' thing next to the sill, it becomes dry in the middle and next tot he tranny tunnell. i thought it might be a wee hole underneath but surely that would spread all over?

bout time ya took out your interiour id say.....
Pay attention to greaseing screws on return fit and i find about a week for wxoyl to dry.

Agreed- Good plan. Will investigate at the weekend, am thinking carpet and rubber thingy out followed by drying/patching/waxoyling and might just stick a mat on top with an offcut of carpet on top- can be chucked away easy if it gets manky.:)

Wot about replacing footwell with an aluminium one- I know a bloke whose a boatbuilder and aluminium welder, bet he could knock up a replacement well....Thoughts, dear colleagues?
