trying to test my breathers. all extended up the snorkel and from the rear axle i cant blow down the bloody pipe hard enough to know if its clear! seems ok but i could just be building a bit of pressure in the pipe. want to be sure they are clear because i have just drained the diff oils etc due to bent bits, trashed threads and all sorts so id like to get it all right now!

so much for having stuff professionally fitted hey!

hhmmmm dont have one but im trying to devise a way to use the nail gun compressor, in the same way, as we speak. cheers anyway.

i wouldnt of thought you would be able to blow down the pipe as theres no were else for the air to go as your putting pressure on the olny hole there is.

I assume you have removed the filler/level plug 1st?. With the filler-plug removed, you should be able to blow down the breather with ease.
If you havnt, you'll just be compressing the air in the breather/axle.........& if you use an air-gun, you could blow a seal.

umm mburton2 thanks for the input but there is a wading kit fitted and the breathers all go to a manifold in the engine bay. so i disconnect it all to check each piece one at a time. use the air gun to blow down the disconnected pipes.

Yep, thats the same as mine....but the air you are trying to blow down the breather, still has to go somewhere....

If you blow down the breather to the transfer box, and you havnt taken out the filler plug, you will just compress the air in the Transfer box &/or think the breather is blocked.....if you take the filler-plug out first, you should be able to blow (air) through it easily.
The same for the Transmission, axles.. etc etc.
