After last nights heavy rain I still have a wet driver's footwell, were the front of the door meets the bulk head at the front of the door seal carpet join area, any ideas were it comes in from?
It is not the sunroof as they are all siliconed up and water tight.
Can it come in at the top corner of the outside of the windscreen, were the rain gutter ends?
Any where else to look?

Thanks,

Just done mine, sealed all round the screen with caravan mastic as doesn't cure took about 1/2 an hour. Now as tight as the proverbial

Hi
before you make the same mistake i did, check your air con/ heater system drain off points, these are located either side of the tunnel towards the front of the car, find the air vents inside the car under edge of centre console at front, the drain pipes are under these vents and come out as two small tubes one on each side of the tunnel, they have a rubber coned end on them that acts as a one way valve thingy, these get blocked and all the water created by your air-con then backs up and spills over into the car under your carpet.
I spent out on a screen to cure a leak which turned out to be this simple problem. Get under the car and sort it mout, its a very quick and easy fix, in five mins you will be chuckling to yourself as its a landy problem fixed that costs not a penny!!!!!

Thanks Discoed up:) Followed your advice from the other thread ;)
Yes it's me, How was your BBQ the other week :D

Hi
BBQ was good, didnt realise it was you again!!! obviously your leak didnt stop then????
while trying to sort mine i was told if the headlining in the drivers corner is damp then you probably have a problem with a sunroof drain tube, also that the only place the TD5 screens leak is the top corners where there is a join in the panels which uses sealer from the factory but apparently they werent all sealed as well as they should have been. When i had my screen replaced the fitter showed me where the problem is usually found.
If you look around what appears to be the screen rubber you will see a nig gap in the top corners, this is how it should be, the actual screen seal is bonding direct to the bodywork behind the glass.
It could also be that nyour carpet just needs to dry out, under the surface is about 1 1/2" of foam sound deadening that can soak up and hold a lot of water, i got at least a pint out of my footwell carpet so it could take a while to dry out naturally!!!
Cheers, Ed

Do a water test on the alpine window, water travels down a crease under the roof lining and comes out at the top of the front piller . Had my window changed under warranty, no more leak.
