This is probably old ground but I am relatively new to this so pse bear with me. I have new tyres, new track rod, new discs and pads. I will go again and rebalance the wheels as there is a little wobble at about 60 mph but there is still a bounce and judder when the NSF wheel drops into a drain or pot hole.

Before I do more can you tell me what the drag link does? And what is the purpose of the steering damper?

I am getting use to the slightly vague steering and dont want to spend loads of dosh doing something which ultimately is down to a design fault and the usual Landrover habit of carrying out it's R&D on it's customers. Also Brit roads are crap so maybe I have to put up with it!

And actually the car goes well and so fare had not let me down - tempting fate, I know!

This is the classic symtoms of low swivel pin preload. I would expect a search on here or a 'Google' will tell you all, but basically, you need to remove the top swivel pins and remve one the shims. The preload is tested using a spring balance and can be measured with the swivel oil seal in place or removed.

I would also check the condition of the steering damper. It should have about the same resistance as a shock absorber, but not be stiff or completely loose :)
