I recently bought a D2 td5

Lot of money was spent on the car prior to purchase, ( private), new air bags, grabber tyres, full service history.

And, ABS shuttle valve repair kit, inc strip and clean modulator/controller to clean valve surfaces. The previous owner was charged pennies short of £460 for this.

Car is now throwing up fault code relating to the shuttle valves, three lights are on. Spoke to the LR trained mechanic who checked the codes, and he reckons the job may not have been done correctly.

I wonder if anyone knows where i would stand as regards warranty on the work carried out? it was only 4 months ago, but does a warranty on work like this last for a year, or does it die with an owner change?

Any thoughts Gents?

under UK law parts are covered for 12 months for manafacturer defects, this generally includes fitting. Best thing to do is phone the garage that done the work and see what they say, if they say no then contact consumer advice...

Go to garage that did work, they will obviously have a record of the work etc,

All they have is basicly the reg number and work carried out,and a name, not the owner, plus who`s to say it wasnt you that owned the car then.

Just go to garage and say you got work done etc etc.

I wouldn't try to blag it, I would be ****ed off if someone came in claiming they had work done themselves when it was the previous owner, the garage will prob know, I would!! Just be honest, the warranty is still to be upheld either way....
