Hey fellas,

95 p38 2.5TD, manual

Had my RR for about 8 months now and have a couple of small problems or at least iam hoping they are...

#1 - Air suspension. My RR has recently developed a small lean to the left. the left side is about a half inch lower than the right, no matter what ride position i set it in, it just seems to sit to be lower at the left. It seams to be an equal amount at both the front and rear. Any suggestions?

#2 - Running cold. Since ive had my RR it has always run Very Cold, it never seems to raise above the highest cold marker. I was told by the Guy i bought it from that the temp used to creep up when he was towing so he replaced the radiator, since then its always ran cold he says. Some times its nearly sitting on the bottom marker even after a half hour run, this is usually in cold weather though. It doesnt have a problem running, perfect infact, just not sure if i should be concerned???

#3 - Iam getting a reading which is telling me my left had door is open when it clearly isnt and also the electric window has stopped working (both at the same time). Thought id get some feed back on this one before i take the door off!!

Id appreciate any feed back on offer.

many thanks

Elmo

Regarding the air suspension is this with the driver in or out of the car? cause if I remember rightly it's programmed to sit slightly higher on drivers side when empty to accomodation the weight of the driver. Mine's always done it.

Its the same if iam in or not. as i said its just a half inch so not sure if its a problem or not but its an obvious lean..

Should sit dead level according to the book, there is a thread with the suspension heights from wheel centre to the wheel arch. Could just want adjusting, download the free EAS software fron Welcome to RSW Solutions and get a cable from Ebay.

For the temperature, maybe the thermostat is knackered or missing or the geauge is duff. Needle should be in the middle or thereabouts.

I had a problem with my suspension.. it was fine until one day I got in and it just didn't lift in one corner.

I bought a cable from ebay and it came with the software on CD for free.

Connected the cable, reset the faults ( one of which was a sensor out of range, which was most likely the fault I noticed) then all was great again.

It took about 5 min to do.

Try this:

EAS Air Suspension Diagnostic Cable - Range Rover P38 on eBay (end time 24-Dec-09 23:08:08 GMT)

If you dont have a serial port on your laptop then you will need a serial to usb converter.

USB to Serial Port (RS232) Converter - Diagnostic Cable on eBay (end time 12-Dec-09 11:13:51 GMT)

Hope this helps. :)

Sounds like the thermostat has been removed. Have it checked out. Running cold could give you serious fuel usage problems.

if you buy the usb converter make sure its got a driver disk wi it, 1st one i bort hadnt and i couldnt find drivers off the net and had to buy anuther

Are you using vista Nathan? I had the same problem on my vista laptop.

Luckily my missus has a laptop with XP and the same cable worked fine on that.
