Leave it standard, many other Defender owners won't even recognise it an assume it's some sort of prototype.

Stand out in what way? What do you want from the vehicle, or what is it used for mainly..

Also don't just buy stuff because its stuff. Only buy things as and when you need them/will make your life easier. That said I'm not the best at that, I have bought a hell of a lot... BUT I do use it all frequently.

Take all.of the paint off, Polish the aluminium and then get it lacquered. I've seen one like this and it looks spectacular!

it think they look better subtly modded with a classic look.- hence why mines got resprayed in cream/marine blue. - and if i hadnt done marine blue id have done russet brown - i made a couple of exceptions for items that make my life easier - heated screen , A bar and an LED light bar (to aid the lucas candles when its dark) and some light grills to stop em getting smashed up by trees and deer (suicide deer on the road to my house)
the look at me kermit green/ RAC orange , electric blue ones that look like they ramraided paddocks and always have a full roof rack and jerry cans as if they were going on an expedition to tescos make me cringe a little makes me think of the fast show. There are a few locally that are so polished and perfect that you would swear they never went off road.

What I like is that all the bits have thin boundary layers of the colours that were on it before, very subtle and can't be seen on the pic. If I ever do mine I'd probably do similar, except mine's been the same colour since new so I doubt I'd get the same effect .. and I'm too tight to put a few coats of other colour paint on first ..

My first thought is "On dear..."
What sort of stand out? If you want it blingy, it'll stand out, but most will think you are a bit of a twonk.
Lots of off roady bits, but moderation and sensible proportions usually look the best. There are some truly gash Defenders out there, they might stand out, but not for any reason worth mentioning.

Heh, like mine in my sig .... Unique .... We made my winch bumper, rock sliders, towing/recovery socket, and loads of other stuff. Certainly won't see any other that's quite the same .. but that's not necessarily a good thing ..

Galvanise everything that can be galvanised. Other defender drivers will spot the difference and drool, because they know you will have sold off your house and family to afford it..
