I'm in the process of replacing the in-tank fuel pump on my V8 90, and the connection on the old pump has a nut and olive connection that screws onto the fuel line.

Trouble is, the new part (PRC7019 if you're interested) has come with an olive all of it's own, but no nut behind it... so how do I fit the existing fuel line to it?

The current Plan B is to hack the end off the old unit and try to transfer the old nut and olive onto the new unit.

Anyone got any experience of this before I reach for the hacksaw?

I would take the old nut off if I couldn't wait, or order a new one if I could.

Often these nuts are a common size, you might find it's the same as a brake union nut for example. Any motor factor should have these for sale individually.

Thanks disco. I've got no probs whipping the old one off, but how to I get it onto the new part that already has the olive in place?

I've given it a precautionary tug with the pliers but it's not budging (I admit I could try harder!)

Cheers
