Hi, am new to Landyzone and find it very informative and now I need some help.Am fitting a 2.8 td izuzu engine into an 1985 90 2.25 Petrol and have ordered a conversion kit for same. However when I looked more closely I see a lot of small vacuum pipes going here there and everywhere on the izuzu engine including to the turbo, these seem to be controlled by solenoid valves, anyone know what should be done with these or can they be dispensed with. The people I bought the conversion kit from say that this engine fits very well into a 90.Thanks if anybody can help.

Hi,
Conversion went very well am very pleased .Engine fits neatly and has loads of power compared to the petrol .Radiator hoses and air manifold intake worked very well.Conversion kit was also very good and every thing matched up perfectly.

hi there!:)

glad conversion went well i have put same engine in my range rover!
I removed most of air pipes and electric air valves on mine!
Very good power overall my Rangie averages 28-32 mpg easily and can cruise at 80-85mph allday!
I was told that i could remove the butterfly valve from the air chamber as i wasn't used and disconnect the air feed to the 1 connected to the exhaust as it restricted the power! I am pleased with it all in general!
Not too sure what everything else did or does thou maybe someone else will let us know as i have stiill not found anywork shop manual covering the 2.8 isuzu engine!
Will have to wait and see what comes up!!!

Hi again,
I removed all the vacuum pipes and electric valves and it runs fine.also tried to get Izuzu manual but failed.Did not remove butterfly valves as I was informed that they stay opened fully anyway because vacuum was removed. Did not connect heater plugs yet as it starts first turn each morning. Not sure how cold mornings will efffect it though, also don't know what type of relay needed for this anyway.
Regards, T.P.McD.

So where did you get your conversion kit?

Did you need to change the engine mounts?

How fast does your 90 go now?

Any feedback much appreciated. Thinking of undergoing this transplant in the next months.

Got the conversion kit from Conversion & Precision Engineering This included the engine mounts.Phone No.01246 855520.They were very helpfull with advice etc. As regards speed I'm not sure how fast it will go as it was mainly for pulling power that I changed and that has improved greatly. Not nearly as much gear changing now .

How did you do the conversion? Conversion & Precision Engineering tipped you how to do it with your local technicin, or you had to do it with Conversion & Precision Engineering's personel?

how much did you have to pay for the new engine and the conversion? does the company have an e-mail or an official site to contact. I live in Greece so I guess it might be a bit far to go to the company in person.
