as winter is just around the corner, has anybody got any tips for improving my 90s heater? iv got a wing top scoop and heaters in good nick.

y didnt i think of that! maybe i should put a log burner in the back while im at it!

Top gear have the copy rights on that one
Defender don't have the best heaters two things I have considered
1 get a snorkel and fit to the heater intake
2 ram air wing top vent ( this is the one I chose )
Alternatively put an extra jumper on lol

cheers will ave a look on e bay, would try CWS as its only 2 minutes away but would have 2 sell landy 2 pay 4 it!:D

Fit a fume curtain being the front seats, doesn't make your heater better but it means your heater is heating a lot smaller space...it's a well known army trick and makes a surprising amount of difference...

I put a peice of perspex in front of my rad in the winter months, helps the engine get up to temp alot quicker hence making the heater blow warm air quicker. I just cable tie it to my grill, ive seen cling film used aswell.

If its a tdi or td5 just dont place it over where the intercooler is, my motor is a soft top truckcab and still gets nice & toasty in winter.

Check the control cables are properly adjusted, mine were a long way out and it made a surprising amount of difference when I adjusted them

They take a while to get hot because the engines are mostly diesel and over cooled. I removed the sucking air thru my radiator as the 90 does not seem to need it anyway which helps it get warmer quicker. When I got mine it was fitted with a pre-heater that you pluged into the mains on a timer set for 30 mis before you get up and go to work. Its like a kettle element that pre-heats the water in the rad and hence when you get in the fluid is warm so the air is also warm. I took that off as I was doing lost of off road and did not want it on my car but its sat in the garage if your interested!

my heater works pretty well, but was thinking of one of these for the winter, just to help her warm up a bit quicker.
