As title - looking for Checker Plate sill covers that actually fit. My sills are practically toast so I’m going to cover them in something a bit more rugged- Matt Black checkerplate is my choice.

The Raptor 4x4 ones were way short and are heading back, shame as they were quite sturdy - but useless.

Any recommendations from first hand experience?

Am I allowed to recommended not fitting chequer plate covers and instead if you want to smarten up the sills replacing them with rock sliders (with or without the side bar)? These are far more robust, give some side impact protection, with the side bars fitted prevent carpark door dings as little hatch backs smash their door into the bar rather than your door, and also depending on which ones you get can be used as jacking points. They also can be discreet rather than "off roady" depending on which ones are chosen.

Worth some thought, was tempted by jackable sills but wanted to leave it as bog standard looking as poss - not a lot of difference between black box section and crinkly tin rivet on sill…..so I’ll ponder that one over a Guinness or Two :)

I prefer the tree sliders with the bar on as they do act like a step and make it easier to get in and out despite being the same height as the floor. The bar means you no longer need to step up and in in a single movement you can step up and then step in. But you can get some fairly subtle box sections ones that so not look that dissimilar than black sills, and if painted body colour just look like normal sills (pic form google)
