90 Chassis Swap

Hi have heard a couple of ways to repace the chassis on a 90..
1. lift the complete body a few feet and roll out the chassis
2. part strip
3. total strip

Can anyone tell me which would be the most efficient way of doing it (as going to be doing it on my drive over a couple of weeks with a few spanners and a wife )....

There isn't really an easy way. Biggest problem will no doubt be all the other stuff you find that's knackered as you take it to bits.

I AM DOING THE SAME AT THE MOMENT BUT NOTE A FEW POINTS.

1. It will take more than a few weeks so prepare accordingly
2. You will be amazed at how much space stuff takes up make sure you have room.
3. Get the essentials in, turret rings, loads of nuts and bolts (use paddocks bolts kits) new set of lamps (Foundry 4x4) new springs and shocks.
4. Borrow and engine crane its invaluable for lifting when putting axles in, as well as the engine.
5. And depending on whether you just want to swap the chassis or renew and repair as you go be prepared for delays.

Apparently i have taken over the garden and if i dont sort it out it will be going down the scrappie... :lalala:

That's what i've been told.....

did mine in six weeks in an open fronted double garage with the father inlaw, total strip, check my posts out, be prepared for siezed bolts etc and good luck, it will be worth it in the end

Easier to lift ot off - means all you need to do is seperate the top bits from the bottom bits, which isn't too bad.

May be harder to lift it and all but certainly makes up for the time that would be spent with all the wiring and lining up panels and nightmares that come with the complete strip.
