I've decided that my intermittent starting prob is down to the reverser/park switch. From cold the other morning I couldn't get anything - then a slight pull on the auto stick, and the starter fired straight up.
I know this little switch is on the side of the auto box to stop you starting in drive or reverse gear. They are famous for playing up, and this is causing my problem.
Haynes book says remove centre console, lift carpets and insulation and get to the switch via the transmission "side panel". Can't seem to get to it from beneath the box.
Before I wade in, anyone know a quicker way to get to this switch? Or better still, how to short round it to the starter relay?
