86 90 Steering box

My 90 does not have power steering, and I'm looking for a replacement box for it, because the steering wheel is almost worse than useless, the car decides where it wants to go going in a straight line. I cannot find a replacement box for it. It is left hand drive, which makes the job quite a bit harder. Can i get a repair kit for it or something? what wears out in there?

Check for play in the knuckle joints between the steering wheel and the box, also check for play on the drop arm ball joint and all other connecting rod joints.
If theres play in any replace these first.
There can be a bit of play in the steering box and thats supposed be there but its a small amount.
If its excessive this can be adjusted via the small slot adjuster on the box which has a locknut on it but check all else first

I know my droparm needs replacing, the seal has perished on it but it's nothing creating play though. I'll have a closer look, thanks for the tip

And also check front wheel bearings dont have excessive play, as this can cause wander if its bad

Front wheel bearings have been replaced under 300kliks ago. Well done, knowing that. I have a tiny bit of play while stationary, none at all while moving. Thank you so much. All fixed.

Oh it will be trust me, change that first it's an easy job. It doesn't need much wear at all to give 'slop'
