72k service

Hello
The next service on my P38 is the 72k mls one. LR recommend that the caliper seals and flexy hoses are changed. Has anybody done this or is it a bit ott? Another question, what is the average hourly charge at uk franchise's and independents, here in France it seems to be 45-50€/hr (£31-£35/hr) ex vat. Has anyone had any experiance of French LR franchises?

I am in a similar postion to you I live near Grenoble and I have just booked a 150Kkm service for my P38 2.5DT they have quoted me around 500€ for the service and I don't know if this is a good price or not.

Have you had servicing done in France and if so how much?

If that is the equivalent of the 96k [miles] service (which I think 150k equates to) then it is a very comprehensive service, and that is a good price. If it is just a regular service then it sounds expensive. Find out what is being done!

Yes.

My experience of trying to service my P38 and get repairs done in France is that no-one really understands it apart from main dealers, and I have yet to find a mechanic that has the computer diagnostics equipment to properly diagnose it. Bit irrelevant for me because I've sold my P38 now, partly for the reason above!

I have two dealer close, one dealer quoted 500€ and the other stated 300€ claiming it is an intermediate service at 150KKm.

I let you know what I think of there service after its done.
