52 Plate TD5 No OIL pressure

70000 miles full service every 4000 all filtres.
Lost oil pressure down to 7 PSI should be 45 cold, stripped engine BTM end, was like new.
Iam fitting new oil pump.
Any body experinced this that can tell me any thing, not back together yet so not sure what it is or if it was pump.
Any ideas.

Hmmm, not a TD5 expert but I've read posts of a bolt in the oil pump working it's way loose, apparently LR forgot to put locktite on the bolts when they were building them......

No its not the bolt when that comes out its all over.

I'm not a TD5 expert either but we had a problem once with a marinised Ford diesel (basically escort 1.8). Couldn't get any oil pressure. Turned out to be a new oil filter with a fault. Apparently some filters have some sort of bypass valve in them and this wasn't working.
Another thought, how are you measuring the pressure? Faulty gauge/sender perhaps?

Yes filtre crossed my mind but changing it made no difference.
Guage was a new callibrated one from R.S spares
