Hi, my p38 has started misfiring every so often, usually only between 1500-2300 rpm, then it disappears, it only does this when unning on lpg? I have started running the car on v-power, so could this have an effect when switching to lpg, as the fuels have different characteristics maybe? Its had new plugs and was serviced around 1000 miles ago. Could it just need leads and maybe coil pack as the lpg isnt as forgiving when the spark is not at strong? Sam

wait till its dark and open bonnet start car and look at the coil pack make sure its not arcing.. if its a single point lpg system try not to use gas till its sorted as may blow up your air box.

Can the coil pack be seen clearly without removing anything first? Would it still seem to run fine on petrol if its the coilpack? mine is a multipoint lpg, is there still the same risk of blowing airbox off, sounds worrying! Sam

multi point should be ok,, if its arcing at coil pack ypu will see blue sparks at back of engine, no need to remove anything yet

Thanks for that, i found it arcing last night at the coil pack, but it was 2 leads arcing, not the coilpack, so i seperated the leads quite far apart for now and it seems to be fine, going to order some decent leads when i get chance, Sam
