Really suprised of the outcome with this as to be honest never heard of it happening with these engines

Seized engine. Out of warranty or not covered as its been abused. Refuse to pay so the finance company take it oft you. Cheap way of ditching a broken car. I wonder if thats what happened.

Old ****ter bought by people, whos means do not meet the running costs, so cut back on servicing etc, and then this happens!

Someone buying that ain't going to be short of petrol money. But they will be miffed at paying out over 10k sovs for a new engine. If bought on finance then the finance company are just as responsible for the sale. You can reject it to them or default on payment to get rid. Its wise to have a bit of finance even if you have the cash, to make rejection easier.

The fault was known before the aution. Handle caps missing to gain entry due to flat battery. Front plastic missing as its been on a tow truck. Parcel shelf missing as peeps had to climb over to get to said flat batteries. Engine cover missing and sensors tampered with. All signs of diagnostic action resulting in a seized crank diagnosis. They may call it a repo aution but someone knew the fault before the auction. With labour a lr main dealer will be wanting best part of 20k sovs to fix. Sod that. Reject it.
