ive developed a problem, when my disco gets to 30 it starts to judder something rotten?!? it only does it whilst passing 30mph and accelerating, when i free wheel at 30 it stops, its does not feel as if its coming through the steering wheel but more the dash board, the engine preformance does not drop (firstly thought miss fire but this only happens when passing through 30mph) i do however get a slight grinding noise every so often which sounds as if it comes from the rear end but im not sure if this is related? can anyone help/advise as its not to the point of throwing the cd head unit at me! :dnfnoob:

Does sounds like a uj on the prop check it out ASAP as it will break and its not a nice experience one other thing is it lifted because if its lifted could also be the output bearing on the transfer box

Friend had his through the floor on his 200.

Don't forget to unbolt it to check it, when my front prop went the shaft felt solid and at first i didn't think there was anything wrong with it, one off it was obvious where the fault was.

get hold of your props at 1 end at a time and shake like bugger...they shouldnt move.

if they do, its that UJ that needs replacing..if it is DO NOT DRIVE IT...or take off up said prop and drive 2wd until you can get it repaired as it it shakes ratttlkes long enough it buggers up transfer box or diff....believe me on this one.

I've had a few discos with 2 inch lift and standard ujs have been fine but I do accept the fact the lift will make them wear out quicker

Get the UJ's changed fella - do it NOW!

Or you too could end up like me and be stranded on the inside lane on a mahoosive roundabout.

For the want of 20 odd quid and a few hours graft, it saves a lot of pain when they do give out - I learnt the hard way!

Oh, little tiny tip - get the propshaft tool, best few quid you'll spend - 14mm socket is doable but will quickly get on yer tits - propshaft tool speeds the job up no end!
