300tdi timing

Hi all,

As some if you may know me and a few friends are doing up a disco to take round Europe and that we had an incident last week with the timing belt snapping. My mates are currently changing the belt and have run into issues. They have set all the gears to the timing marks and inserted the timing pin into the pump gear and ensured that no.1 is at top dead centre. However after rebuilding and starting it up they have found that it runs ok on Tick over but struggles to rev up and sounds like it's running on 2 cylinders. Could anyone suggest any reasons why this is happening?

I assume you've checked all the push rods are straight, and replaced as required?

Yeah, replaced all the push rods and a broken rocker

Problem solved, discovered the issue was with the fine adjustment on the pump. Runs sweet now 😃
