Good afternoon all,
I trust all your afternoons are going better than mine. I drained the engine oil from the trusty Disco, but on inspecting the sump plug, which felt wee but iffy when I removed I find the the thread, on the plug is well past its sell by date. However the thread in the sump looks Ok, but I'd like to run a tap through it before trying a new sump plug next week, when the local independant opens.
So has anybody any idea what the sump plug thread is?
Regards

its big and looks like a 1.5mm thread, measure the hole or the old sump plug (looks like an m16 0r m18 at a guess it wsa 3 months ago i took mine out last so is a guess) will give you a rough idea on it, to be honist i would use a tread restorer rather than a tap if you can.

once you have done the tread put bung in and put about a ltr of oil in and leave for a few hours then drain to get any crap out before you run the engine
