300tdi stopping problem

Hi got a major problem, my disco won't stop on the key, I have had to stall it everytime for the past few days was slightly intermittent for a few weeks but now it's a problem I don't want to shagger the box the clutch or the handbrake on the shaft, any troubleshooting from anyone would be hugely appreciated

Btw it's a replacement pump not ao long ago

Stop solenoid on pump ?

I was wondering that,
is it voltage to stop or negative to stop??? As I'll check the feed too

there is voltage to the pump while its running and it should be taken away to stop it

Well it now stops, after clinched teeth everyone I stalled it awaiting a flying prop or something untoward
But I'm a little concerned at what I found
A few peices of metal plating or filings?? Time will tell, I'm wondering if this has come from the old solenoid and stopping it coming up
