Hey guys,
First time posting here.... Great forum.
I have a 1998 110 300tdi CSW... Not the first owner..
It has Begun to give starting trouble the past week. It has an immobiliser and alarm with spider bypass fitted.
Symptoms were similar to before I fitted the spider bypass with nothing happening when key turned, not cranking at all.. When I went to check the bypass the connector was slightly melted.. The next morning it started with no problems, however I thought I better have a look at the starter/starter solenoid. I noticed the connection on the solenoid which I believe goes to the ignition/immobiliser/alarm box was loose. On moving the wire the starter began turning over. NO keys were in the ignition and the nine didn't start.. Managed to pull off the negative battery lead and shut it down...
Wondering if there has been other bypass work done before I have owned it... Read about starter solenoid and stop solenoid being wired straight to the ignition...?
Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated..
