yes.

you can get it sniff tested at a garage, which tests for exhaust gas in the water system

By filler cap, do you mean the cap on the expansion bottle?
I just turned on the engine, removed the expansion bottle cap and throttled it up. No bubbles at all...

Sorry been busy, I would get the header tank sniffed for exshaust gasses,

On another note is the radiator clean inside and out?

No worries, all the help is welcome

The radiator is clean outside, but I have no idea about the inside. I'll get it flushed later this week.

Just a doubt, might fragments from the water pump failure be circulating on the system and blocking it?
