300tdi oil leak

ive have now sprung a very heavy oil leak coming from here

im loosing about half a pint in 24 hours
ive been quoted £400 to fix some seal??
is it going to kill my clutch or anything else if i continue to drive it and just keep topping the oil up?

I take it they have quoted for a rear main seal, if its bad enough they can soak the clutch with oil and kill it, would defiantly be worth sorting out. :scratching_chin:

Id get it sorted then.... its also something you could tackle your self if you have a little bit of spanner know how and a engine lift or hire one as I find it easier to take engine out to do rather than gear box off but some prefer removing the box, but without use of a ramp would be hard, there will be plenty of info on here about it if you do a search.
