Hi all, I have a discovery 2 which I am doing a 300tdi conversion on, bought the engine and was told it ran etc and was in good working order, I have since fitted it and found that the head gasket had gone, so replaced big end shells, piston rings, head gasket, glow plugs, valve stem seals and injector copper rings!
gone to start it and now it doesn't want to start!
Have tried bleeding the system, the engine will start on easy start and when it runs it runs amazingly well! but it doesn't seem to like starting all by itself!
is this likely to be a lift pump? or injector pump?
I didn't think it was the injector pump purely because of how well it runs and drives once started.
