So, I've been lurking for a while, having owned the disco for about a year, I've had various issues, I thought I'd share my experiences...

Since having it I've had problems with the threads in the head pulling and the rocker shaft coming loose and breaking...

After the first time I helicoiled the problem home and all was good for a few months, however I have had issues with the oil pressure light flickering at tickover...

On reading a few threads I'd convinced myself it was a dodgy switch and just carried on.

2 weeks ago the cambelt snapped, cue another broken rocker shaft.. I decided at this point to helicoil all of them, job done, new belt and rocker shaft and away I went...
Then I had a missfire... Decided I'd pull the head off to investigate, found a slightly bent valve so decided on a second hand head.

While I'd got the head off I had a good nose around, I pulled the cam followers out and promptly dropped a roller into the cam housing, bugger.. Then it dropped into the sump.. Bugger again...

Took the sump off and checked the big ends and mains.. But of wear but not too bad, oil strainer clear and pressure relief valve free and all in tact..

Surely it must just be the pressure switch failing... Err no... Looked up inside the block and found half a cam bearing wedged under the cam..

That'll be the problem then!!!!

Teaches me doesn't it??? 20 years in the trade and I never expected that!

Sorry for the long post!

Hahaha... Well, replacement bottom end is all built up and in, clutch fork beefed up and cat errr removed....

Just the rest of it to rebuild now!!

I took my Cat out, a bit more zip but uses more fuel, may hit a compromise by re adjusting boost diaphram (I opened it up before)...
