300TDI exhaust manifold stuck

Hi. My leaking inlet manifold was blowing oil over the engine so I’ve a new gasket. Inlet manifold came off without issue - the two long bolts were missing! The exh manifold was also missing bolts/studs. All now undone but the mani won’t budge. Normally I’d count the bolts to check if any have been left fitted but as some were missing I don’t know whether there’s one securing the centre branch - is there one under the manifold that’s out of sight? This may explain why the mani won’t come away from the block. If not has anyone any ideas as to why it won’t budge? Thanks.

Count the bolt holes in the gasket and compare to the number of bolts you know are loose or missing.
