300tdi dying on over run

Has anyone got any idea what is the cure for this problem ?
I have a low milage (88k) 300tdi disco Auto 1996 with full L R service history
the problem is it cuts out on the over run i have changed the fuel filter and cleaned out the sediment bowl near the tank, It no so much as cuts out as it returns to tick over momenterily with the check engine light on then returns to normal when the accelerate again. well any ideas

well I was underwhelmed with the response to my problem I found out it was the Throttle position sensor £50 pound fix from breakers ( £600 from L/R)
