Help please, the car starts ok and revs for about 5 secs but then will only tickover. If left running for a few minutes it will revs for a few secs again or if you pump manually while ticking over it will let you rev for maybe 5 secs. All other times if you press accelerator it will rev up to 1500 only and feel very lumpy like a misfire!
Not sure but does this sound like a blockage/pump or electrical issue?
Thanks for any help

Replaced lift pump, emptied swirlpot at back. Noticed both black rubber pipes at egr/intercooler squeezing in when revved, so replacd them. Still sucking them in?
Any ideas?

Firstly, Try bleeding the fuel system, theres a bleed port on top of the Fuel filter housing, I just ran the engine on mine un-did the screw on the port and when fuel came out the top put the screw back in, all was well after that.

Your hoses should'nt be sucking in, should be puffing up? Could be your turbo is siezed (Which would explain why it wont rev very well, and the engine would be trying to suck air in rather than having air forced in by the turbo hence the pipes sucking down), they should expand when you apply throttle?? Best to remove the outlet hose from the turbo (Bulk head end) and get yer pinkies in the housing and try and turn the turbo shaft, if it doesnt go around easily or has loads of end or radial float (Slop) its knackered. If the turbo is ok, check your actuator is attached to the waste gate, if it isnt then your loose boost at the top and Middle of the rev range.

hope that helps

Thanks Fellas, replaced the angled and straight rubber pipes on to the turbo as on closer inspection they felt like jelly & the bend had de-laminated.
Took motor for a spin and seems fine.
Fingers crossed!
