I recently had an mot failure on my 1998 300tdi disco the usual tin rot which has been sorted I may add that the fuel tank had to be removed to weld the rear x member, then a fuel leak at the injection pump leaking at the body which again has been fixed, only thing is when I tried to start the engine initially it was over reving so stopped and re-adjusted spindle to throttle arm still the same tried adjusting the lever at the side (egr) but egr not fitted, then the next time I tried to start it it was a bit better but then it died and I haven't been able to start it since. As the tank was remove I thought it may need bleeding but the fuel filter is full of diesel could I have mixed up the pipe connections at the tank? Which one is. The leak back pipe, large or small? Could it be a problem with the injector pump? Also tried the lift pump but doesn't seem to be building pressure. Any thoughts as to why not starting? Thanks
