going to try and make my own snorkle as cheap as possible, prob out of rain water downpipe.
has anyone got any tips on doing this,ie how to cut hole in wing which bends and best materials....
could be fun,but not wanting to get wrong and let in water...

might not look as good as a nice safari one but if it does the job i will be happy not one for posing....after buying some new bfg boots cash abit tight....

Have a look here ... Snorkel ... OK. it's not a homemade, but it'll give you an idea of the hole and how to fix the snorkel tube to the A-post etc .. ;)

I'll have a look tomorrow and se if I've still got the template, I can scan it and email it you if you like, might help a bit. ;)

ye mate that would be a help..:)

Found it.

Be aware that the scan and your subsequent print-out might not be exact but it'll be close. Also be aware that this is for a Southdown snorkel, can't remember the diameter, so if you use a different tube size or different angle into the wing the the hole needs to be different. Has to be said, think I said it in my write-up, that this hole is a tad wide, but needs to be to allow a little movement when fitting .. ;)

Have fun, post some pics when you're done ..

Bit off topic, well sort of anyway, anyone got measurements of the A-pillar mount off a southdown snorkel? I've got a southdown wing moulding to keep everything nice and tidy but could do with a more precise bracket. Anyone got a tape handy? Cheers!
