Glaze bust in this afternoon

Got stage 2 on the way tonight.
Got this in. Max 500 miles on this oil.
The instructions on the previous glaze bust oil said expect the engine to burn a lot of it, but it didn't seem to use any

Frustratingly, it's too early to say. Ran her with the glaze bust oil in for less than 100 miles, as per the instructions. Then I put their normal running in oil in which has to be in for less than 500 miles. Unfortunately, during this time, the steering started going wayward and I started to get feedback through the brake pedal. So, we've not been driving it until I get that sorted. It's either been snowing or raining here since, so I've not been able to get much done. Discovered the wheel nuts were seized, after much fighting with them, had to take it to tyre lace to get nuts off. Once I got wheels off and did a quick explore I discovered the drive members were badly worn
Picking those up on Monday, so might be able to make some progress after that. Just need some decent weather as I only have the drive to work on.What a bummer, always some new problem taking attention from the main one! Still eager to hear how you get on when it's finally seen the full treatment - preferably with functional brakes and wheels, mind!
Same soggy situation here, I go with the get wet and have to polish all the tools up after approach

Aye, but up here you lose fingers to frostbite or risk death from exposure. Still snow on the hill tops here. Vast majority of my relatives are up in Aberdeen, first visit when I was a wee nip I posed the "what are the 6ft poles for?" question up in the hills, suffice to say I didn't believe the answer, snow is that millimeter thick stuff after all

She's done 400 miles on the running in oil now. Pulling really hard, so feels great. It has used no noticeable oil in that time. Just changed the filter and put normal 10w40 in it. Will keep monitoring the oil consumption and see what happens. My fingers are crossed.

I'm sure you'll do a great job yourself. Sort ya hernia first though, the engine parts are heavy!Just found this Thread Mate,didnt know you were rebuilding your engine. WOW, You've done an Excellent job there.

10w40 has been in a week doing the usual daily drive to work with the Mrs. 270 miles and no noticeable oil used! Early days though, so I'm not counting any chickens. Let's see what the next three weeks bring.

To be fair, the last two weekends have been dry. Especially this one, but other things have cropped up.

I hope it's Ok too - And I'd be very proud of what you have achieved so far irrespective of it using some oil - Clearly better if it doesn't use much at all, but it's great to see what you have done.

If it didn't cause me so many issues typing, I'd put one or two of my repairs on here for people to take the p*ss
