Was a good running engine, genuine defender with 125k

Had the issue with the timing belt running off the pulleys despite having the modified pulley fitted so I decided to swap the engine and break this one

Offers on everything

Quick update.
I sent the pump to Diesel Bob (Ribble Valley) and he said:-
Excessive play in throttle shaft
Reduced pump suction (25% lower than ideal)
Low end fuel delivery too high (30-35% too high)

It cost me £451 to have it repaired and returned.
Did it sort your landy once you fitted it ?

Haven't got that far yet.
I got the injectors cleaned and fitted those ... that made a big difference, still not a 'bright' as I expect it to be, but heaps better.
I adjusted the slack in the throttle cable too (as you suggested) that helped some.

Diesel bob knows his stuff. Plus his website is hilarious.

Bob does know his stuff.
Now though he charges for the 'examination' as well as the work.

If you send him a pump and ask him to tell you whats wrong, it's £42, if you ask him to fix that issue it's the cost of the repair + the original £42 'look-n-see-fee' + £21.6 shipping.
If you go for the full refurb its £451.20 + the £42 + £21.6 shipping (£514.80)

The look-n-see-fee used to be knocked off if you subsequently ask for it to be repaired (not just sent back) but not now....
