Hi, I have just swapped the gearbox on my Disco 300 TDi and unfortunately during the change I accidently depressed the clutch pedal and it stayed down. I have now changed the master cylinder because I was told that it may be faulty but the problem is still there. Is there a clutch pedal return spring which may be broken? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

i had the same problem on mine recently,
the clutch fork arm had been penetrated by its pivot post,
did you put a new fork on when you changed gbox(also have you checked the slave cylinder?)

Thanks for your reply, I changed the clutch fork and the slave cylinder when I changed the gearbox.

if mechanically and hydraulically its all in order,
check out the pedal scenario first, and i hope for you thats' it,
'cos failing that bell housing off again and check out retainer clips and spigot bush:doh:

good luck.

hi had the same prob with an old p38 after changing clutch only way we could cure it was by making a new push rod an inch longer than standard i no this not good way but had spent a week and to mechanics trying to bleed it never got to bottom of it but drove for a year like it until sold
