300 tdi axle swap

could i just swap over my 2.5 td axles for 300 tdi defender ones? the difference being the splines? also the 300tdi ones have rear discs and mine have drums, how easy is it to change this over if swapping full rear axle? is it just a matter of changing break pips on calipers?

Ah don't think it should be a prob... but ah 'think' that's what trewey did to his. Swappin' axles ain't to hard but better if there is two of ye's.....

too be honest its the front one that only needs changing, (slack drive) so the front is just a straight forward swap?

Sorry to hi-jack a little, but dose any one know if ill have any problems fitting the axles off a 96 disco with ABS.
- ill remove the abs senors.
-change the diff flange on the rear

i fitted 95 disco (non abs) axles to me 90. Had to change the diff flange on the rear, and the pipes on the front calipers, nicked them off the old axle.

Went straight on otherwise, brakes are fantastic now an all.
