Well I arent sure who said "if its not broken its someone elses", well I agree with that 100%.

You know how dark it is now early in the morn and at night in the uk, well when wax oiling I thought I would do a real good job, popped the head lights to get better access, well it would appear the last guy who owned this liked mastic/silicone, and anything that was loose has been mastic sealed with bath room sealer, FFS.

So currently I have a side repeater stuck in with mastick, front headlight was held on with mastic, the head light now falls out of the clip as some knob broke the part on the light, and of course me taking it apart fukd it even more, and the other headlight has a loose connection, so this week I have one headlight looking at the floor, one on parking, and down country lanes isnt funny in a landy with out proper lights.

Then as I am leaving today, the wife phones me up, you have a light out at the back.

Oh well, I do love the landy so its just needs a little bit of time spent on her.

Oh and by the way happy new year, and me front screen cracked in the freezing weather.

Cheers guys, hope this made u smile a little, dont get disheartened with your machine enjoy her.

sounds like your new year is off to a good start.
ive had my 300 now for near on 6 years and apart from a few ball joints and bushers here and there and a new alternator its been a real gem.
theres no accounting for the numptys who have had em before us thou.
mastic, what a master mechanic.

No its nothin really just got to expect things like this with a ten year old vehicle, I didnt mention the two new front tyres.....

But any way I love her...

since I bought my 300 I have had to replace the cylinder head (warped) rear floor pan plus cross members, two water pumps, two tyres, front windsceen, radio head unit, swivel oil seals, fan belt and now it has an ABS fault and I thnk the alternator bearing is on the way out.

still love it

sam

I've had it two years, it's a M reg 2.5 Tdi ES only used at weekends and holidays.

Personally, I would spend more money on my 300 than I would on the wife. Trouble is........having sex with the disco is a bit mechanical!!
