Hey guys,

Little update on how my Disco 2 is getting on after a good few months of ownership.

So far so good! Have put just over 2K on her since I bought her up and down the country and twice towing my wife's horse box to Sport Endurance rides. Has performed impeccably but, could do with a little extra grunt on the hilly bits. Have spoken to the Dyno Chip fella and I will hopefully have him over some time next month to change my ECU chip as it's a 99!

Got around to replacing the EGR valve which I do believe made a difference. Haven't done the Oil Pump Bolt as I'm a firm believer of "If it ain't broke don't fix it" famous last words I know but, if it has lasted this long (99) then I ain't dicking around with it!

Only issues to date are the engine temp gauge displays the red LED and drops into the negative value every now and again which in turn makes the engine go mental on tick over (sounds like it's hunting???) have found that the connection point on the loom has been cable tied in place to offer further support already by the previous owner! Have removed and cleaned with contact cleaner before replacing the cable tie for now.. Appears to be much better but occasionally it still needs a wiggle..

There is a small amount of incontinance in relation to her spotting on my drive, have had a look and it appears to be coming from the engine gasket area and the big round seal on the front of the engine. These I will change when I service her next.

Rear single seat collapsing mechanism has shat it self so no longer works as a collapsible seat.. it is now in a perminant fixed position.

Also I have purchased a set of safari side steps but, they are without the 4 X fitting poles.. so if anybody has a set going spare I would gladly take them off your hands for a small fee ;)

Cheers gentleman and be lucky :)

Sounds like job is a good one...

Still have the Pink ribbon on then......LOL.

Big round seal is a £5 and 5 minute job.

If the ECU red plug is getting oil in it, then a change of injector loom is worth doing , £30 and an hour max.

Cheers
