Hello guys hope you can help me. After putting a v8 in my old ex n/a I have bought an aftermarket temp gauge and sender for the v8 as they are different from the diesel sender etc.

My question is what are the normal running temperatures for a 3.9 and what is getting on for too hot and when is overheating time?

I've tried to look but can't find any exact numbers or parameters to use with my gauge. It goes from 70' to 110'.

Your help as always is appreciated

Anyone able to help as my gauge is sitting at between 95-100 just seems hot but not sure if its because my gauge is linked up to the rrc sensor?????

OK. With an aftermarket gauge hooked to the RRC's sender there is no way of telling what the silly thing is doing as the RRC sender is likely not matched to the gauge.

Get an adapter and use the sender that came with the gauge.

I assume the RRC has an 82C sender in it - so you can safely assume that sitting in the drive or after a short run that is what the temperature is in the intake manifold at the sender. If NH the past few days is anything like Chelmsford MA then trust me it ain;t overheating. :)

However, do make sure that you do not have air-locks in your cooling system.
