3.5 v8 on carbs keeps cutting out

My 3.5 v8 on carbs keeps cutting out its had a recent service all new plugs leads coil dizzy cap etc etc ive replaced the fuel pump its really strange it can on some days run for hours with no problems but on other days it will cut out 5 times in an hour it's fine on tick over its when its being drove it some times looses power if I try to rev threw it the engine sounds weaker as if its running out of fuel it will then cut out but will start 30 seconds later with no problems some times I've kept it going by changing from say 3rd to 4th any one have any ideas it would be APRECIATED thanks

Had the same problem with mine after I changed all the electrics - only cured it by putting the original rotor arm back in. Have tried 2 more (including a genuine LR one) and the only one that works is the original one - now done over 100k since i've had it so I'm definitely on borrowed time!
