Freelander 1 2nd hand CCU?

Can a 2nd hand CCU be used in an 06 Freelander?

Suspect mine is at fault, no indicators or hazards, though the warning lights are on the dash permanently. Trailer warning illuminates and stays on when either direction is selected

Relay works, switch works, dash works, so it only leaves the CCU/Fusebox

Can be, but must be re-coded with EWS3D (immo) and DDE 2.0 (ECM).
Fobs will require programming.

CCU on later cars isn't linked to immobilisation

Only thing needed is to program fobs and configure CCU to spec of car (3/5 door etc)
